Aubrey Plaza decided to open her heart about one of the most difficult moments of her life. During participation in the podcast presented by Amy Poehler, her colleague of “Parks and Recreation”, the actress publicly spoke for the first time about the death of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, who died in January this year at 47.

Plaza described the process of mourning as devastating and permanent. “Overall, I’m here and working. I feel grateful to still be moving around the world. I think I’m fine, but it’s like a daily struggle, obviously,” he said.

The actress made a metaphor to translate the feeling that accompanies her from the loss. According to her, the mourning resembles the horror movie “between mountains”, which portrays a monster slit. “That’s how my grief seems, or as grief it can be. All the time there is a giant ocean of suffering right there, and I can see him. Sometimes I want to dive into him and just be in it. Other times I just watch. And at times, I try to get away from him. But he is always there.”

The death of Jeff Baena, screenwriter and director, shocked fans and close friends of the couple. He and Plaza had been together for over a decade and had married discreetly in 2021. The actress has always maintained personal life in relative reserve, but has decided to share now how she has faced pain.
