by

For at least 13 cases of fraud, three people were arrested in Piraeus, a 36-year-old and a 42-year-old man, as well as a 42-year-old woman. In addition, three of their accomplices are wanted.

According to ELAS, the two men had created a website on the internet and presented themselves as specialized and certified electricians, providing electrical services. After contacting the customers, the detainees went to their homes, checked the damage and demanded money as advances for the provision of their services, stating that they would go at a later time to complete their work, pre-ordering spare parts, accessories or materials.

The victims handed over money, either in cash or by transferring it to the bank account of two of the wanted defendants. Then they either did some work or not at all and did not return the money they had received as advances.

In some cases, the action of the above, caused electrical damage, which could result in a serious risk to the health or life of the victims and a risk of fire or explosion.

In addition, it was found that they were renting vehicles, in order to cover their tracks, which they did not return.

A case was filed against the accused, for the occasional offenses of the criminal organization – gang formation, continuous fraud, conspiracy and complicity in it, dangerous damage, exposure, damage to foreign property, threat and embezzlement of vehicles.

The arrested, with the case against them, were taken to the Public Prosecutor of Piraeus.
