In particular, the Council of State gave a favorable opinion on the Draft Presidential Decree of the Ministry of Environment and Energy for the Special Urban Plan in Eyewhich was edited by the TEE and so the Administration can proceed with the issuance of the Presidential Decree.

The Deputy Minister of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, Nikos Tagarasstated in this regard: “The now approved EPS is the” guide “for the Road Implementation Plan – which is being prepared by the TEE – in order to put in the path of implementation urban regeneration, environmental protection and dealing with the consequences of the great natural disaster of the whole martyrdom area “.

The fire-affected area in Mati is a representative case with special and difficult problems that have accumulated for decades “.

As he made known, the EPS for Mati will be a “pilot” to deal with similar problems and for other areas of the country with corresponding spatial distortions, making them more resistant to natural disasters. While, with the positive opinion of the CoC, the government’s plan for the construction of social housing for the fire victims is implemented.

For his part, the president of the TEE, George Stasinos, he pointed out: “The TEE undertook to carry out a huge and complex design project, the Special Urban Plan for the Eye. RIS services in collaboration with the TEE and the researchers went ahead with what we were all committed to: a standard process with standard design in a difficult area, with respect and commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly choices. “These choices are now judged in addition to being technically and legally correct.”

According to Mr. Stasinos: “It is in the hands of all of us to use the lessons of this process to benefit the whole country, in view of the elaboration of TPS and EPS throughout Greece.”

It is noted that the Ministry of Environment and Energy, with the assistance of the Technical Chamber of Greece, completed in two years the Special Urban Plan (EPS) for the following municipalities of Nea Makri and Rafina: Mati, Kokkino Limanaki, Agia Marina, Skoufeika, and Pefona covering a total area of ​​7,935 acres.
