Detailed information on the site of the event
Greece makes its orthopedics, hosts in the sport of cycling, as in many other sports in the last two years – regardless of popularity – great events, returning to the place it deserves in the world sports!
This creates another tourist, entertainment and educational event for citizens across the country:
Tourist, thanks to the huge view of the cities, which starts, passes and ends the peloton.
. Recreational, because everyone can watch it for free, enjoying the spectacular duels of cyclists.
Educational, because the Tour is framed by hundreds of parallel events, aimed at enhancing cycling awareness in society and sustainable mobility, at a time when it is necessary to leave a positive ecological footprint on all our actions.
“Holding major events, the extroversion of Greece, is a strategic choice of the Ministry of Sports and the Government, as it is the best investment in strengthening the competitiveness of our country’s economy. The connection of sports with tourism is a chapter for further development, for the direct benefit of local communities and the national economy “, PPC emphasizes.
A typical example is the EKO Rally Acropolis 2021, which after eight years of absence returned to the world stage and received rave reviews.
• It was financed only 25% by the Greek state (€ 720,000), its financial footprint reached 35 million, of which 20 million were paid to local economies, where the WRC Specials were held.
• We support public-private partnerships. The sponsors of the Games are key partners of success, as well as the local government of first and second degree, the volunteers (more than 600, who are trained, play a catalytic role in the safe conduct of the event and are then utilized through the Register of Volunteer Sports Organizations ) and of course bodies of selfless offer such as the Red Cross and the Corps of Greek Scouts.
• The EKO Rally Acropolis had 59,459,000 spectators worldwide and 770 hours were broadcast worldwide from Greece:
. The Acropolis, the Constitution, Corinth, the prefectures of Central Greece, the beautiful landscapes, the fir forests, the mountains of the mainland, the beauties of our place.
• Something similar will happen with the PPC International Cycling Tour:
In our country, there will be 1.5 hours of live broadcast every day every stage from ERTflix and every night, around midnight, from Alpha the summary of the race day, lasting 26 minutes.
26 The 26-minute summary will be shown every night by Eurosport, a program that will be repeated the next morning by Eurosport2.
