The French president Emanuel Macron has more than 90% chances to win on Sunday second round of presidential elections at the expense of the far right Marin Lepenaccording to the odds announced by the British bookmakers.
Macron’s lead has risen in recent days from 55% on average in pollsagainst 45% for his opponent, with whom they will have one tonight TV debate.
The websites of betting offices William Hill and Paddy Power announced betting odds that show Macron has a 90.9% chance of being re-elected. The respective rates for Betfair Exchange and Ladbrokes were 92.6% and 94.1% respectively.
The odds given by the bookmakers do not guarantee the result. In 2016, for example, bets showed that supporters of Britain’s stay in the EU would win by a sweeping percentage in the June 23 referendum. On election day, Betfair voted 88.5% in favor of staying on the ballot, but the result was in favor of leaving.
