How citizens will digitally certify the authenticity of the signature from their mobile phone

by

Two new services “next to” the emblematic services of Responsible Declaration and Authorization were presented to the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and are immediately available, from today, at the service of the citizens.

In this way, the services related to the original signature for citizens and businesses are completed and fully digitized through gov.gr. It is one of the services most often used by citizens and businesses through KEP for a variety of procedures and needs.

“Today we will talk about a very important, another very important, digital application, which comes to facilitate citizens and employees. It is the digital certification of documents and agreements that together with the electronic responsible declaration and the digital authorization, constitute the large volume of transactions through gov.gr “, said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“According to the data I saw, these three services in the past required almost 30 million visits a year to the Citizens’ Service Centers. So today, as we close this circle through the digital certification of the authenticity of the signature – to put it simply in the way that the citizens perceive it – we give another digital service to the citizens. It will make it much easier for them. It will free up a significant amount of time for the employment of civil servants in the Citizens’ Service Centers, as well as in the Police Departments. In other words, it will enable our police officers, instead of working with administrative services, to go out on the street and deal with the core of their work, which is the protection of the citizen “, stressed the Prime Minister.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the beginning of the meeting introduced to the participants Konstantinos who is today at his side.

“Let me make the necessary recommendations first. We have Konstantinos with us today. As you may know, yesterday was DUOday. It is a day when people with special skills come to public institutions to be able to make a first contact with the world of work, as our goal is our young fellow citizens like Konstantinos, to have the opportunity, finally, to work. So today we opened the door of the Maximos Palace to Constantine and his mother who we are happy to have with us. He accompanies us all morning. Before he was with us in the meeting we had with the French Foreign Minister, today he will attend all these very interesting things about which we will have the opportunity to talk later and then I will have the pleasure to take him with me to visit the President of Democracy in the context of our regular monthly meeting “.

The Minister of State and Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, among others, stressed: “All genuine documents acquire their own digital home and of course will be in the Citizen’s box. All the documents that will obtain a certificate of genuine signature from gov.gr, as a pdf will have a QR code on them and so one can now confirm really and not only visually, if these documents are genuine. Because they will exist in both the physical and digital worlds. And of course, as a continuation of law 4727/2020, which we will now specify, the produced documents will have the obligation to be accepted by all public and private sector bodies in our country “.

The arsenal of the digital state is being strengthened

With the digitization and simplification of the process of genuine signature, the citizens will gain significant productive time while the whole society and the Hellenes abroad are digitally strengthened as this process, being more digital, can be completed from anywhere and anytime through gov.gr.

It is noted that the service is accessible from docs.gov.gr and from the portal of gov.gr while the user logs in with taxisnet or bank codes for reasons of increased security.

That is, he must have a certified mobile phone in the National Communication Register, and he uploads the file in which he wants to certify the authenticity of his signature digitally.

Immediately, the process is completed and the user obtains the generated document which has been digitally certified by the user’s genuine signature based on the digital signature of gov.gr and his personal details (Name, Surname, Patronymic, TIN) simulating the physical presence in KEP ( there the identification element for the confirmation would be the ID number instead of the VAT number).

In case of multiple signatories, ie in the case of the private contract, the user enters the VAT numbers and name, surname of the co-signatories, who receive the opportunity to sign the document.

When the process is completed by the last co-signer, then the document appears digitally confirmed in their mailboxes at my.gov.gr.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of State and Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the Minister of State, George Gerapetritis, the Minister of State, in charge of Coordination of Government Work, Akis Skertsos, the Deputy Minister Deputy Minister of Digital Government, responsible for telecommunications and the Land Registry, Theodoros Libanios, the General Secretary of Information Systems of Public Administration, Demosthenes Anagnostopoulos, the General Secretary of the Committee of Digital Governance, YY, Aris Kozyris and the Director of the Prime Minister’s Press Office, Dimitris Tsiodras.
