The perpetrator was detained at the Police Department and yesterday, Thursday, he was taken to the Autophorous Three-Member Misdemeanor Court of Volos. The defense attorney requested criminal mediation and the trial was postponed to November 30, because the elderly woman did not appear in court to testify.
According to information, the 47-year-old, who was under the influence of alcohol, allegedly hit his mother, because he entered his room and interrupted a conversation he had with a video call with another person via Skype!
He himself admitted his act, while the woman went to the Almyros Health Center, to provide her with first aid.
In her statement to the Police, the woman had stated to the Police that her son is addicted to alcohol and often goes out of his mind.
Until the Court is convened and the 78-year-old is asked if she agrees to go to criminal mediation with her son, the 47-year-old was released on the condition that he not stay at his paternal home and have no contact with his mother.
