Hyundai has unveiled the Seven, the new prototype large electric SUV of the IONIQ brand, at Auto Mobility LA, which is being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from November 19 to 28.
It is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) of the Hyundai group. The long wheelbase refers to a whole new category of vehicles that offers new experiences. It has an aerodynamic silhouette, which deviates from a typical SUV. The low front end of the hood, the single improved roofline and the elongated wheelbase differentiate the model from traditional SUVs. The strong road presence of the Seven is enhanced by its wheels, which have integrated active air vanes, which are developed or retracted according to the requirements of brake cooling or low traction.
The interior is premium and prepares passengers for the autonomous driving season. Its difference lies in the innovation of the space that offers more freedom. The flat floor allows the model to develop an alternative to traditional in-line seating arrangements, creating a more comfortable interior layout.
The Seven also incorporates Hyundai’s future vision for autonomous mobility. The driver’s seat has a folding control lever, which is hidden when not in use. Without the need for the usual driver equipment, the cockpit and built-in screens create a living room experience. The seating arrangement is in contrast to traditional SUVs with swivel armchairs and a curved bench. This seat arrangement can be adjusted according to the driver or autonomous driving functions.
The model in real conditions with a 350 kW charger, will be able to charge from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes, while its autonomy is over 485 km.
