Journalist Vangelis Balikos died at the age of 64.

He was the founder of the newspaper “Nea Kallithea” and one of the founders of neakallithea.gr and Match Money.

Vangelis Balikos passed away, spreading grief to the journalistic world and his family. According to neakallithea.gr, he was suffering from cancer and his health was deteriorating rapidly.

He was born in 1958 in Nea Vyssa, Evros and until he was 16 he lived in Nea Orestiada.

From 1987 he published in Kallithea, where he lived until the last day of his life, the weekly newspaper “Ta Nea tis Kallithea” with all the news of the city. He worked in many daily newspapers, mainly in the “Free Press”, always in sports reporting. From 2003 he started publishing, together with Leonidas Bosinakis, Match Money, in which he worked until today.

In addition, he had a successful career mainly in sports reporting and was one of the main creators of ERA SPORTS, in May 1993, the first purely sports radio with live broadcasts from all stadiums.
