Lawsuit against the Principal of the Arta Special School filed yesterday morning, May 12, the mother of an 11-year-old student of the Special School, as her child returned home with a huge bite on his leg and fight marks on his hands. His mother, with tears in her eyes, recounted what exactly happened, according to seleo.gr.
«Last Tuesday, when I went to pick up my child from school, I was surprised to see that it had scratches on the back of his right ear and on the wrists. I asked my son’s teacher what happened, as my child did not suffer any injuries when he left our house in the morning. She replied that the specific injuries were caused by the attempt made by the Principal and teacher of the school to remove my child, who had grabbed her hair.
My surprise continued when I arrived at our house and changed my son’s clothes and went to bathe him, where there, taking off his uniform, I saw a huge bruise – a bite in the middle of his leg, in fact it is a bruise where there are traces of teeth . This immediately made me realize that someone had bitten my son hard at this point. My son is an autistic child and talking to him to explain what happened to me is not easy, all he told me is that “he had a mime”.
I then contacted a school teacher, asking her if she knew anything about the incident. She replied that she did not know anything, but would inform the school principal to contact me. And indeed, the Director immediately contacted me, where she admitted to me, on her own, before I even had time to ask her, that she had bitten my son, in order to remove him because he was pulling her hair!
I was shocked at that moment, hearing her then try to justify her behavior to me, typically saying that she acted in this way because she was attacked by my underage son! Did he tell me he was on the defensive, on defense against an 11-year-old?».
The mother of the child is shocked and demands responsibility! She feels so frustrated, typically telling us: “Every day I give a fight to get my child accepted! Because it is a disability that is not visible, that is, if we go to a playground my child due to his autism will want to play alone on the slide, he does not cooperate with the other children to play, and so to those who do not know my son he looks like a spoiled child, since his disability is not visible.
So every day I give my child a fight to acclimatize somewhere and I fight constantly. But how can my son accept such behavior from his own school, the Special School? There are normally special education teachers there, they are supposed to be people who have studied how to treat children with special needs, children with autism and special needs… How now they send my child back to me with bites and bruises and scratches and they tell me that it’s not their fault, but that they were on the defensive?».
