The wedding of former president and candidate Lula, this Wednesday (18), was called “ostentation” because of the list of drinks that includes national sparkling wine from R$135 and Spanish red wine from R$60.
Apparently, only Lula cannot have a life with the least amount of comfort and pleasure. The drinks mentioned are even below what one would expect in any celebration of the upper middle class – to which Lula naturally belongs, after decades as the main leadership of the PT and two terms as president of the Republic.
To ward off the demophobic patrol, the former president and fiancée Janja opted for a modest party for the importance of the event. Any other politician or celebrity would spend – or get as a gift – much more, and no one would say an “a”. With good reason, by the way.
But it’s different with Lula. In order to adapt to the ex-worker’s outfit, he should serve his guests caninha Velho Barrento and Mimimi skewers with fillet meow. Then it would only be called a pinguço and rude.
I imagine that many of the guests are not used to drinking 60 contos wine. I also imagine that some of them can “smuggle” some collector’s bottles to the party – those four-digit bottles that people in Brasília drink as if they were a tubaína.
Then they will offer the very expensive wines to the bride and groom. And these, of course, will be pleased. We will not have photos, as the couple correctly vetoed cell phones at the party. But there is nothing to stop the gossip. Let’s wait for the “complaints”.
