They were arrested, after diligent investigations and extensive searchestwo internationally persecuted persons in Thessaloniki. They are two 30-year-old men against whom prosecution documents are pending from the Swedish and German authorities.as the case may be, for drug trafficking cases, which have fallen into the “nets” of Special Research Teams of the Search Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate.
In particular, in the context of the exchange of information, police officers of the Service concerned – representatives of the ENFAST Network “European Network of Search Teams of Persecuted” – with Swedish police officers – representatives of the same Network – and through the SIRENE Office of the Chief of Staff who was arrested yesterday at noon in the city center on the basis of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Swedish authorities.
The arrest warrant concerns drug trafficking and participation in a criminal groupwhich smuggled quantities of drugs into Sweden and in particular in at least one case in 2021 where a quantity of 20 kilos of cannabis was trafficked.
A search of the detainee’s possession turned up and confiscated the remains of a cannabis-containing cigarette, two improvised nylon packages containing processed chocolate cannabis, a laptop, a mobile phone and an IPTV decoder.
Also, after utilizing information of the German Police Authorities through the National Office SIRENEwas located and arrested at the Thessaloniki International State Airport “MACEDONIA”, a 30-year-old citizen, against whom a European Arrest Warrant has been issued for drug trafficking.
Specifically, the 30-year-old, in the context of a criminal organization, inciting two other members of the organization, paid them a sum of money, with which the aforementioned bought and transported 4.5 kilos of marijuana, one kilo of ecstasy pills, one hundred and fifty grams of cocaine and ninja territory where they were seized by the local Customs Authorities.
Those arrested will be taken to the competent Judicial Authorities.
