Dendia meets with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney on Friday in Athens

The talks between the two Foreign Ministers will cover the further development of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of sectors, focusing on a recently drafted Road Map (trade, economy, culture, issues of the Diaspora, etc.).

THE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendiaswill have a meeting in Athens, tomorrow, June 17, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, Simon Coveney (also holds the portfolio of the Ministry of Defense), during the latter’s visit to Greece.

The two Ministers will have a private meeting, which will be followed by extended talks between the two delegations.

Afterwards, the Foreign Ministers will make joint statements to the press, at around 13:20, after which a working lunch will take place.

The talks between the two Foreign Ministers will cover the further development of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of sectors, focusing on a recently drafted Road Map (trade, economy, culture, issues of the Diaspora, etc.).

In addition, the talks are expected to focus on international and regional developments, with an emphasis on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, Western Balkans and the Middle East.

Various EU issues are also expected to be discussed, such as immigration and the EU-UK negotiation process, including the Irish Protocol.

It is noted that this is the first time after 17 years that an Irish Foreign Minister pays a visit to Greece.
