Today’s Turkish newspapers, according to what SKAI correspondent Manolis Kostidis reported from Istanbul, report that Greece is trying to change the balance by acquiring the French Rafale and the American F-35.
Concerns are high in Ankara after an official request from Greece for the acquisition of 20 + 20 F-35s by the US, as reflected in the Turkish press.
According to information from SKAI, the procedures will be accelerated, as in the coming days the political and military leadership of Ministry of Defense will travel to the US to discuss the request.

Military analyst Mete Yarar said the key factor that could change the balance between Greece and Turkey is aviation, which is the only sector in which Turkey has no production.

Last night it became known that the Greek government signed the request to the USA for the F35 aircraft.
Government sources said that “this is a process that has been underway for a long time.”
As they noted, “this is the signing and sending of the Letter of Request (LoR) which is the first step in a long process.”
