Volkswagen chairman says he will overtake Tesla by 2025
The chairman of the board of Volkswagen claims, according to the “Daily Mail”, that he will surpass Tesla by 2025, because the “giant” of electric cars will be weakened after the decision of Elon Musk to deal with two giants at the same time.
«Volkswagen (VW) plans to overtake Tesla by 2025 and will do so by hitting when the iron is hot». The ambitious statement was made by Herbert Diess, the current chairman of the board of the Volkswagen Group, during a meeting at VW headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Diess has been targeting Tesla for some time. In fact, he recently stated that VW is able to sell more electric vehicles than its rival by 2025.
Both Tesla plants are struggling to find spare parts and speed up production, according to the Financial Times.
Elon Musk said his new carmakers were “losing billions of dollars” due to supply chain problems and battery shortages.
Although the two men are friends, the chairman of the board of Volkswagen “shows” Tesla as the biggest rival of VW.
Musk, however, does not seem to be bothered by the competition. Speaking at a Bloomberg event on June 21, the billionaire said: “We do not really think about other competitors. The demand for our cars is extremely high and the waiting list is long».
