The negotiations of that period were held at the OECD headquarters and not in a hotel, the prime minister said, denying a report by Yanis Varoufakis about the presence of Mr. Mitsotakis outside the room at the hotel where Declan Costello was staying at 3 in the morning.
The prime minister began his trilogue by highlighting the absence of political leaders from the room. “Political leaders must be inside the room until the end of the debate,” he said.
We are not going to lead the country to a fiscal derailment with non-costed proposals, he said in response to Alexis Tsipras’s proposals for dealing with punctuality.
He added that “we have given a lot of money to support Greek society. We have given 5 billion euros to be exact. Is this money little?’
“Anyone who claims there are magic solutions is lying. If there was such a solution, other governments would have implemented it” Kyriakos Mitsotakis added.
Referring to his speech to the European Parliament, he emphasized that he told the truth regarding the freedom of the press in Greece. “This is the definition of the free press, that anyone can write anything about anyone,” he commented.
