Androulakis: Let PASOK become the strong pole against the right and conservation

Referring to the national issues, he emphasized that his party wants the neighboring country with stability and perspective, with respect for human rights and the sovereign rights of the neighboring countries in conditions of good neighborliness, while he characterized the policy of appeasement as a mistake.

The president of PASOK-KINAL, Nikos Androulakis, reiterated his position that the issue of monitoring his phone is not personal, but concerns the orderly functioning and transparency of democracy, from Vatolakkos Chania on Monday evening.

In his first open political speech in Crete after his election to the party leadership, he argued that the government is trying to downplay the issue.

The president of PASOK-KINAL wondered what would happen if what was found on his cell phone had been found on Mitsotakis’ cell phone, when Tsipras was prime minister, or if it had been found on Tsipras’ cell phone today with Mitsotakis as prime minister.

In his speech, Mr. Androulakis made special reference to the struggles of the Cretans and Crete, combining them with the struggles of the democratic faction for democracy and social justice.

At the same time, he emphasized that his goal is to make PASOK and the democratic faction the strong pole against the right and conservation in Greece.

“It is the only prospect for Mitsotakis to leave power. It is the only perspective to have a strong, democratic pole with a program that responds to the elite. Not with populism, but with responsibility, with everyday solutions with social justice that will embrace the anxieties of vulnerable Greeks and the middle class,” he said.

As he also emphasized, his party’s duty is to provide a new perspective with a new path, as he said, a new political ethos.

Referring to the energy crisis, he accused Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Tsipras, arguing that they made the country controlled by natural gas, at the same time stating the positions of his party for the creation of energy communities for green development and renewable energy sources, while he emphasized the need for the imposition of a ceiling on fuel retail, the immediate return of the Excise Tax to farmers and breeders and the reduction of VAT on basic goods.

He also emphasized that there should be a new EKAS for retirees and the effort to create social housing in the country should be strengthened.

From Chania, Mr. Androulakis asked for the strengthening of public health and primary health, accusing the Prime Minister of wanting to strengthen the private sector of health. As he said, “Mr. Mitsotakis does not believe in public health, he does not believe in the NHS”.

Referring to the national issues, he emphasized that his party wants the neighboring country with stability and perspective, with respect for human rights and the sovereign rights of the neighboring countries in conditions of good neighborliness, while he characterized the policy of appeasement as a mistake.

In his speech, Mr. Androulakis argued that PASOK, with its actions, proved how it shields national interests, stressing that “it must be a priority to introduce an arms embargo in Turkey.”

Anyone who sells even one weapon to Turkey, either from America or from Europe, is pampering Erdogan and undermining stability in the south-eastern Mediterranean, and this must be the firm position of all parties without half-heartedness.”

At the same time, he pointed out that there should be a strategic plan for the Balkan region.
