Tsiaras to SKAI for monitoring: Everything in the light, but over time

The government wants the whole truth to come out about the surveillance, but in the long run, he clarified, speaking to SKAI, Kostas Tsiaras.

“Possibly there are some institutional issues which the Prime Minister himself highlighted in a very specific way during his address to the citizens. Is there an institutional issue regarding the way in which the legal connections of the EYP are made? obviously there is but it should not be discredited an entire service that offers a lot to the state,” the minister emphasized.

As Mr. Tsiaras mentioned, “for the first time a prime minister sees that there is an issue, and wants to take the initiative to reform the institutional framework”.

“Everything that exists must be brought to light, we said this from the very beginning. I said that the monitoring of Mr. Androulakis’s phone is a matter of democracy, I said that it is an issue that must be looked at seriously and with all the details,” he said.

He reminded that the SYRIZA government before 2018 there were two prosecutors who controlled each respective issue and the SYRIZA government changed that.
