The Minister of Immigration and Asylum has been in Evros since the morning, Notis Mitarakis, in order to go to the Prison Reception and Identification Center where they will be transferred the 38 migrants who were detected yesterday on Greek territory.

In his statements this morning at the Open, he responded to all those who criticized Greece, noting that with “absolute humanity and respect for international law, as soon as we were informed that this group was inside Greek territory, the Greek police moved, we provided them with all the necessary medical aid and the people are in absolute safety at the outpost.”

He also noted that the migrants crossed the river Evros by boat

He added that it is being investigated from which point they passed and who facilitated them, the Greek police and the competent authorities will discuss with the people, will be interrogated and we will have an answer to the questions about what really happened and whether the authorities of other states or other third parties are involved, the minister declared.
