At the headquarters of units and surveillance posts of the Army and the Navy in Halki, Kasos and Astypalea found today, Wednesday, September 28, the Deputy Minister of National Defense Nikos Hardaliasconcluding his two-day visit to the islands of the Eastern Aegean.
As announced, he moved to Chalkis surveillance post, in the 3rd National Guard Company/National Guard Battalion of Karpathos, in Kasos and in the 2nd National Guard Company/National Guard Battalion of Kos, in Astypalaia. The deputy minister was informed by the administrations about the current operational and training activities of the units and spoke with the executives, conscripts and national guards.
During his stay in Astypalaia, he visited “Troupakis” guided missile fast patrol car which participates in the “Coast Recognition 2022” exercise. N. Hardalias was informed by the captain about the mission and the operational capabilities of the missile boat, he spoke with its crew and watched on-board operational training objects as part of the exercise.
Also, N. Hardalias met with mayors of Chalkis Evangelos Fragakis, Kasos Michalis Erotokritos and Astypalaia Nikos Komineas, as well as with the commanders of the local services of the Security Forces. The deputy minister was accompanied by the commander of the Supreme Military Command of the Interior and Islands, Lt. Gen. Dimitrios Houpis.
