Rain of questions from the ex-minister’s advocates Dimitris Papagelopoulou continued before him Special Court the testimony of PaSoK KINAL MP Andreas Loverdos who was also the Minister of Health.

The witness repeated during the continuation of his testimony on Tuesday, that he “does not know” anything about any involvement, (guidance) of Dimitris Papagelopoulos to the prosecutor Eleni Touloupakis in the case in which both are accused for not sending the file to the Parliament which concerned the former Minister Pan. Kouroumpli, while the files for the ten politicians were forwarded.

In specific questions of the advocates of Dimitris Papagelopoulos o Andreas Loverdos he emphasized that “in the Parliament it might have been possible to say that Papagelopoulos was behind everything, but here I have no evidence to report such a thing to the Court”.

As far as the prosecutor Eleni Touloupaki is concerned, she repeated the breach of duty on her part for the non-transmission of the Kouroumpli file, while responding to the defense attorney of Dimitris Papagelopoulos (Ippokrates Mylonas) who referred to Eleni Touloupaki, she noted that “you blame the prosecutor Not me”.

Tension was noted in the trial by the questions of the Prosecutor of the trial, Olga Smyrlis, which were related to the incrimination of the politicians (and Andreas Loverdos) at Novartis, a case that has been closed – and is not being tried in this court. Annoyed, Andreas Loverdos replied that “he himself has not changed his position, simply that the exculpatory will has been issued for the Novartis“, while he added “if you want us to go there, I will be the first, but this part is not tried here”.

Prosecutor : In your statements to the interrogator you have said that he is a member of the gang… Now what has changed?

Loverdos : Nothing has changed in my position. The will has changed. I did not come here to state my positions. I have come as a witness to contribute what facts I know. Nothing has changed, I’m in the Special Court and I’m testifying about the pending case.

Also during the process there was tension between the advocates of Touloupakis and Papagelopoulos.

The former deputy of KINAL Evi Christofilopoulou who had signed together with Andreas Loverdos the petitions against Kouroumbilis stated in her testimony that Pan. Kouroumplis did not proceed, as he should have, in pricing the medicines “causing damage to the public and the insured”. Referring to his possible criminal liability, he noted “that he did not commit the murder, to put it simply, but an attempt was made.” However, the President of the Court, Vassiliki Iliopoulou, insisted on whether the reports against Kouroumplis contained elements of criminal responsibility, to receive from the witness the answer that “there is parliamentary control with the assessment of political responsibilities, but beyond these, the reports were made for potential criminal responsibility” .

However, with regard to the accusations against the prosecutor Eleni Touloupakis and the former minister Dimitris Papagelopoulos regarding the non-transmission of the Kouroumplis file to the Parliament, Mrs. Christofilopoulou stated that she does not have any evidence, adding however that the Kouroumplis case was not investigated by the Parliament as he never reached it.
