Giorgos Papandreou complains to the Ethics, Statute Implementation and Certification Committee (EDEKAP) about the issue of the Movement for Change in the electoral process on December 5.
According to Mr. Papandreou in his letter to EDEKAP, it appeared that in 164 polling stations (out of a total of 841, ie in 20% of the polling stations) more ballots were found in the polls than the people who were accredited to vote. That is, he adds, at least 2,700 ballots were found more than the sample check.
Papandreou’s letter to EDEKAP
“I was informed by my representative in EDEKAP that complaints were communicated to your Committee regarding the election process on the first Sunday.
Immediately, I asked my organizing team for a thorough review of the final results. After cross-checking the official data of the company OTS, concerning the electronically accredited on the tablets of the electoral process and the results per ballot box, it emerged that in 164 polling stations (out of a total of 841, ie in 20% of the polling stations) more ballot papers were found than the people who were accredited to vote – at least 2,700 ballots were found more than the sample check.
Given the differences that have been identified, the question of transparency and the protection of the integrity of the process and the fact that the second round of elections is imminent on Sunday, I ask your Commission as the most competent statutory body to investigate these complaints in depth, so that to ensure the Sunday process “.
