Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life from the dead explosion in a coal mine in the province of Bartin, Turkey, and condolences to the families of the deceased, says Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in a post on Twitter. Also, Nikos Dendias wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.

Besides, he informs that he expressed his condolences in a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

He also points out that “our thoughts are with the families of the miners who lost their lives and we wish the injured a speedy recovery.

As APE-MPE reported earlier, the death toll from yesterday’s explosion at a coal mine in northwestern Turkey has risen to 40, the Turkish Interior Minister said today. The explosion occurred on Friday afternoon in a coal mine in the city of Amasra, located on the coast of the Black Sea.
