The president of PASOK-KINAL participated last night and this morning in the conference of the European Socialist Party.

The president of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, from Berlin proposed joint gas orders of the 27 EU member states in order to reduce prices. In addition, he advocated the establishment of a new Recovery Fund that will support energy production in member states and support vulnerable households.

The president of PASOK-KINAL participated last night and this morning in the conference of the European Socialist Party.

The energy crisis and foreign policy issues under the shadow of the worsening of Greek-Turkish relations were at the center of the meeting of the president of PASOK-Movement for Change Nikos Androulakis with the Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa, which took place earlier today, on the last day of the conference’s work of European Socialists, held in the German capital.

“We are living in an era of multiple crises – geopolitical, economic, energy – which intensify the insecurity of the European peoples. The only way to overcome them is through strong solidarity. That is why I raised with the European socialists the question of Turkish provocation at the expense of Greece and Cyprus. A comprehensive response is needed at next week’s European Council,” stressed Nikos Anadroulakis in his statements.

Regarding the issues of the energy crisis, he said: “We need to make a joint order for natural gas, which will bring down prices, and a new recovery fund, where money in the form of subsidies will support domestic production and vulnerable households.” Mr. Androulakis added that the only way to forge our common future is to do more together, but to do it as quickly as possible because the more time is lost, the more the problems escalate

Last night, on the sidelines of the dinner of the leaders of the European Socialist Party, the president of PASOK-Movement of Change had a short dialogue with the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz.

Earlier, Mr. Androulakis exchanged views with the president of the SPD, Lars Kligbeil.
