Oikonomou: The value of being involved in politics is timeless

On the progress of ONNED and the completion of 48 years since its foundation, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government representative, Yannis Oikonomou, spoke at the event held in the capital of Magnesia.

The host was ONNED of Magnesia and speakers, both Mr. Economou and the president of ONNED, Orfeas Georgiou, who outlined the course of the youth of New Democracy through time and under the title “48 years of ONNED, 48 years in the first line”.

The government representative Yannis Oikonomou, arriving at the “Volos Palace” hotel, stated that “I responded with great joy to ONNED Magnesia’s invitation to come here with good colleagues and dear friends to chat about the history of ONNED, not only the history of ONNED, but for the timeless value of being involved in politics and inspiring young people to be pioneers in the effort of the homeland, in the faction’s effort to face the multiple external crises and to open roads, to keep the road of advancement open and prosperity for the whole of Greek society and especially for the new generation”.

From the stage of the event, Mr. Oikonomou referred to the years of his own youth and his path in ONNED, while Orfeas Georgiou, as the youth president, referred to the 48 years that have passed since the beginning in 1974.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education Zeta Makri, the MPs Christos Boukoros, Thanasis Liupis and Kostas Maraveyas, the regional governor of Thessaly Kostas Agorastos, the vice-regional governor of Magnesia, Dorothea Kolyndrini, many officials of New Democracy and young people.
