The official opposition leader submits a new question to the prime minister in Parliament
New question about tracking the president of SYRIZA testifies to the Parliament Alexis Tsipras. The question he poses to Mr. Mitsotakis is whether he commits that no minister and member of the government who was monitored by the Predator was also monitored by the EYP and in particular, he asks Mr. Mitsotakis: “Do you intend to immediately ask the ADAE to conduct an investigation into the telecommunication providers, in order to clarify whether there really was any of your ministers who are included in the predator lists and in the process of being “officially” connected by the EYP?”
The text of Mr. Tsipras’ question follows:
SUBJECT: “Do you promise that no minister and member of the government who was monitored by the Predator was also monitored by the EYP”?
For two weeks in a row you have refused parliamentary scrutiny and you have not come to answer the topical questions I put to you.
In the first week you refused to answer about the possibility of the country being led to an election with the parastatal monitoring center active. And in the second week you refused to answer the possibility that some of those in the Documento newspaper report who were allegedly put under illegal surveillance by the Predator malware were at the same time “officially” connected by the EYP.
Your persistent refusal to come to Parliament and give answers shows guilt. And the revelatory publications that followed your denials are stormy and multiply the unanswered questions.
More specifically, yesterday’s publication of the TO BIMA newspaper confirms that the illegal predator software came to Greece by your close associates and on behalf of the EYP, under the guidance of the prime minister’s office.
In addition, it confirms the authenticity of the list of people being monitored by the malware and in particular the monitoring of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with a message that the latter allegedly received about a year ago.
Given that there was no refutation in the revealing publication of Vimas, nor was there the strong reaction, which you yourself reserve in the publication of the Documento newspaper a week ago.
Given that the list of people put under surveillance testifies to the existence of a parastatal network that, in addition to political influence, also sought useful information about business developments in our country.
Given that the target of the parastatal mechanism was also the flow of money connected even to the armament programs, with public bodies and large community funds of billions.
Given that the government’s line of defense seems to have changed and while you initially questioned the authenticity of the target list, you now claim that the government itself was ultimately targeted.
Given that it is revealed that the alleged audit carried out by the National Transparency Authority under your close associate, Mr. Binis, on the companies Intellexa and Krikel without even checking their bank accounts was sham and in fact another stone in the cover-up operation.
Given, finally, that despite the successive publications that identify the predator with the EYP and reveal that the malicious software was operating in an area controlled by the Greek government, you continue to claim that the EYP and you personally who are responsible for it, have not nothing to do with illegal software.
I consider it appropriate to persist in my attempt to invite you to come to the Parliament, as befits a Parliamentary Democracy, and answer the critical questions that arise about the relationship of the EYP with the illegal predator software.
Based on the above, the Prime Minister is asked:
1. You can pledge before the National Delegation that no minister of your government, no general secretary, MP or MEP and no journalist from the lists that have been published, had, in parallel with the illegal predator software, been put under surveillance by the EYP with the “legal” procedure of attachment following a prosecutor’s order, as had happened in similar cases with Mr. Nikos Androulakis and Mr. Thanasis Koukakis?
2. You intend to seek the consent of the ministers and other members of your government who are included in the list of alleged targets of the predator, in order to immediately invite the ADAE to conduct an investigation of the telecommunications providers, in order to clarify whether there were indeed any of those who was it also in the process of being “officially” connected by the EYP?
