SYRIZA also claims that “Mr. Mitsotakis is attempting to formalize the omerta and institutionalize the operation to cover up the scandal”

“Mr. Mitsotakis’ draft law on surveillance is a legislative tombstone in the effort to bring the truth to light,” SYRIZA-PS states in a statement, adding that it “solemnly confirms his guilt.”

SYRIZA also claims that “Mr. Mitsotakis is attempting to formalize the omerta and institutionalize the operation to cover up the scandal” and explains: “Despite the warnings of the European institutions and ADAE, despite the opposition of the opposition, he is bringing an extreme in order to be able to to hide for three years. It does not reinstate the provision it repealed, and even retroactively for the possibility of informing the monitored person. On the contrary, it is provided that a relevant request can be made three years after the end of monitoring”.

In closing, he notes: “In other words, until the elections, we will not know what was the national security reason for which not only Mr. Androulakis or Mr. Koukakis were being monitored, but also any other victims of Predator surveillance that may have been in parallel connection from EYP”.
