Tsipras: Those who undermine democracy are making a huge mistake

by

“Those who undermine democracy and underestimate the determination of the Greek people to protect it are committing a huge mistake, which they will soon find out through the struggles of the people and above all through the vote of the Greek people”

“Democracy in our country was not given to us, but it was won through the struggles of mainly the youth and the Greek people,” said the president of SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsipras, from the march for the 49th anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising.

“This is deeply inscribed in the consciousness of Greek society. In the consciousness of the majority of the Greek people, even if some reviewers of Greek history were quick to reject it in previous years,” he said characteristically.

“This is also the reason why, today, throughout Greece we see a massive participation. A mass presence of thousands of citizens of all ages rushing to commemorate the November uprising. This is also the reason why those who believe today that the issues related to the protection of democracy and democratic rights are not of concern to Greek citizens are wrong”, he emphasized and concluded:

“Those who undermine the Republic and underestimate the determination of the Greek people to protect it, they are making a huge mistake, which they will soon find out through the struggles of the people and above all through the vote of the Greek people, whenever the polls are set for political change”.
