Monitoring: Olga Gerovasili testified – Vaxevanis requested a postponement for next Tuesday

The former minister, secretary of SYRIZA’s KO Olga Gerovasilis gave a statement to the Prosecutor of First Instance, Aggeliki Triantafillou, who is conducting an investigation into the case of wiretapping.

Mrs. Gerovasili has stated that she has been the victim of surveillance of her communications and has filed a lawsuit at the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office.

Leaving the prosecutor’s office, the former minister asserted in her statements that the surveillance was “directed from the Maximos Palace” and that the case must be investigated by the judiciary.

As Mrs. Gerovasili mentioned: “I was called by the Prosecutor to testify. I stand by my lawsuit regarding the violation of the privacy of my communications and personal data.”

He also emphasized that “given the shock that the whole matter has caused, the Court must investigate the case and shed ample light on it.” According to Mrs. Gerovasili, Megaro Maximos “directed the monitoring, even monitoring its ministers such as Mr. Nikos Dendias”.

Publisher Kostas Vaxevanis was also present at the prosecutor’s office, who requested that the appointment be postponed, so he will testify next Tuesday.

Mr. Vaxevanis has been called to testify about the publications of his newspaper that cited lists of names of persons from political and financial life who, according to the newspaper, have been victims of surveillance.
