Akar threatens: We are ready to use the S-400 anywhere

As Manolis Kostidis reports from Istanbul, Akar also said that “if we don’t take the F-16s, we have other things on our minds”.

Turkey through the Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar clarified to the US that he will not back down on the S-400 issue saying that they will stay in the country. Mr. Akar even said in a threatening tone that within an hour they can be used anywhere.

Akar stated: “We are ready to use the S-400s anywhere,” Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said, adding that his country can activate them “within an hour”.

Also, as the SKAI correspondent broadcasts from Istanbul, Manolis KostidisAkar said that “if we don’t get the F-16s, we have other things on our minds.”

“We are currently trying to get the F-16s, but of course we have other things in mind. They tell us where the S-400s are. The S-400 systems are in place and ready for use. There is a period of time for the transfer of the S-400. From this moment on to the point where it will be transported within an hour it is ready, the manufacturer says half an hour, but I say an hour. So there is no problem. In case a threat arises somewhere, and when we decide where our anti-aircraft defense should be activated, we will transfer it and use this system.”

Turkish analysts believe that Akar’s statements do not pose a threat to Greece.

The commander-in-chief e.a. Armagan Kouloglou speaking to Haber Turk he said: “We didn’t get the S-400s just for the threats coming from Syria. Because here we are talking about a missile system, which is transported and made ready for use within a short period of time. Because the threat does not only come from there but also from the West, we can use them and in the Aegean region there are already such plans”.

At the same time, Akar brings back the non-existent claims about Lavrio, while at the same time accusing Greece of expansionism: “Greece makes provocations, commits ‘identity’ genocides and supports terrorists in Lavrio.”

Akar said: “Greece accuses Turkey of expansionism by inventing a concept called ‘Neo-Ottoman’, despite the fact that Greece expanded 3 times in 7 stages in pursuit of the ‘Great Idea’ from the day it was founded and came right down from Turkey’s nose. It ignores ‘Turkish’ existence, tries to intimidate ‘Turks’ with assimilation policies and pressures, commits almost conscious identity genocide, cooperates with terrorist organizations and aids and supports terrorists, especially in the Lavrio camp.

Greece makes great efforts to distort historical facts by making films and erecting so-called genocide monuments. However, the real atrocities and genocide were committed by Greece in the rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in Tripoli and its attempt to invade Anatolia between 1919-1922. This is the truth and everyone knows it. From this point of view, if Greece is looking for genocide, it should look in the mirror.”

The Greece-Egypt agreement opened the discussions on the continental shelf

The agreement that signed between Greece and Egypt causes concern in Turkey with the Turkish media reporting that “it is not in Egypt’s interest to agree with Greece”.

The colonel e.a. Erai Gützluer reported on CNN Turk: “Egypt is a major player in the Eastern Mediterranean and like Turkey is a continental country and when we define the continental shelf the mainland is taken into account. Because Greece has no coasts here, it goes outside, it has no rights, and that is what international law says.”

Ahmet Hakan, director of Hurriyet said: “Maybe we should see the map of Seville, What did Greece want to do with Egypt?” We also see the relevant map.

Gützluer added: “They wanted to besiege Turkey and with this situation, 50,000 sq. km of the continental shelf of Egypt are passing into the hands of Greece. Egypt doesn’t want it either.”

Hakan then said: “Well this is against Egypt and only if it is an enemy of Turkey will it do something like this.”

At another point in the discussion, reference was also made to the “Blue Homeland”: “Let’s also see the map of the Blue Homeland. Essentially, the previous map also shows the Blue Homeland… here is the Aegean too.”

Turkish President Erdogan said that Turkey will enter Syria with tanks and army.
