Institutions and Transparency Committee on wiretapping: Dimitriadis testified, the other three did not attend

Its closed-door meeting has ended Institutions and Transparency Committee which was convened following the joint demands of the opposition parties to hear the former general secretary of the Prime Minister Grigoris Dimitriadis and the businessmen Ferlix Biggiou, Yiannis Lavranou and Tal Dilian, who are allegedly involved with the companies Krikell and Intellexa regarding the malware Predator and watch them.

The former general secretary of the Prime Minister Grigoris Dimitriadis came to the Committee and testified. On the contrary, the businessmen Ferlix Bitzios and Yiannis Lavranos informed that the former lives in Milan and the latter in London and they are prevented from coming to the Commission and if the Commission wants they can testify with a memorandum or testify to our consular authorities.

Mr. Tal Dilian, even if a relevant request-invitation was sent to Tel Aviv, it was not possible to locate him.

The Opposition requested that invitations be sent again and that the procedures for their mandatory attendance be initiated. This request was put to a vote as was whether the meeting should proceed with secrecy procedures, which were rejected by the majority.
