Economou for monitoring: We trust the judicial investigation – We welcome Mr. Tsipras to this perception

by

The government has from the outset declared its full confidence in the ongoing judicial investigation.

“From the first moment, the government has declared its absolute confidence in the ongoing judicial investigation” regarding the surveillance, commented the government representative, Yiannis Oikonomou, in response to the statements of the president of SYRIZA, who earlier visited the prosecutor of the Supreme Court , Isidoros Doyako.

In his statement, Mr. Economou said: “Justice in Greece fulfills its role as one of the main pillars of our Republic.

Against substantiated complaints and valid allegations, it intervenes and does not allow the slightest shade.

We are sure that he does the same with regard to what is published in the last period.

The government has from the outset declared its full confidence in the ongoing judicial investigation.

This is also the only institutionally correct way in order to clarify every aspect of this case in terms of either the perpetrators or the fiction writers.

We also welcome Mr. Tsipras, who today expressed his confidence in the institution of the Greek Justice, to this understanding.

PS: It is extremely dangerous and nationally damaging, especially in today’s circumstances, to suggest that the Prime Minister does not trust the leadership of the Armed Forces of our country.”

Tsipras: We all know where the facts and evidence are

After his meeting with the Prosecutor General, Alexis Tsipras said: “I expressed to the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court my deep concern about the developments.

The revelations of the last few months about the transformation of the EYP into a temporary paracenter monitoring of political leaders, parliamentarians, MEPs, ministers, journalists, businessmen and even judges is a great blow to democracy itself, it puts it at risk.

Monitoring the heads of the Armed Forces puts our very national security at risk.

We all have a responsibility not to let this heavy shadow hover over our political system but also over the country’s armed forces.

We all know that the sole responsibility for the search for evidence and evidence, the clearing up of this smelly case, the sole responsibility for shedding ample light rests with the Greek Justice.

And we all know where the facts and evidence are.

Where, based on the law, records of the provisions and monitoring orders are required to be kept by the EYP and of course to those who signed the provisions and monitoring orders.

I want to hope and I hope that in this country the institutions of democracy still work.

And I want to conclude by expressing my confidence in the institution of the Greek Justice”.
