SYRIZA-PS: Why was the EYP monitoring Hatzidakis?

SYRIZA-PS issued an announcement regarding a publication of the “Documento” newspaper on the wiretapping case, in which it is stated that Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis was the “target 5046c” of the EYP.

In the announcement it is noted that Mr. Mitsotakis “had the then Minister of Energy and Vice-President of the ND monitored for at least a year, who completely coincidentally was also being monitored by the Predator malicious software, just like Androulakis and Koukakis”.

The official opposition calls on the prime minister to explain the reasons of national security for which he ordered the monitoring of Mr. Hatzidakis.

“The evidence revealed by the Documento about the monitoring of Mr. Hatzidakis by the EYP, explains why Mr. Mitsotakis put it on his feet in order not to answer in the Parliament to the simple question of Mr. Tsipras whether the EYP was monitoring Mr. Hatzidakis and the Chief of GEETHA, Mr. Floros.

Mitsotakis reliability is proven today. He wasn’t just playing theater when he also acted as the aggrieved saying “is it possible that you are implying that I was watching as a Minister of the government? Shame on you for only implying it’, but he was knowingly lying to his political opponents,
his ministers and deputies and to the Greek people.

Mr. Mitsotakis, after taking the EYP to his office on July 8, 2019, i.e. the first day of his administration, did what Mr. Samaras and Karamanlis described as “unthinkable” and a “democratic diversion”: He had them monitor for for at least a year the then Minister of Energy and Vice President of the ND, who completely coincidentally was also being monitored by the Predator malware, just like Androulakis and Koukakis.

The questions he is now asked to answer are simple:

1. What are the national security reasons for which he ordered the monitoring of Mr. Hatzidakis?

2. Did Mr. Hatzidakis threaten national security or did he threaten the selfish interests of Maximos with his handling of business projects in the field of energy?
