Tsipras on surveillance: “Mr. Mitsotakis is an accomplice, that’s why he’s been hiding for so many months”

by

“Since August, Mr. Mitsotakis, instead of coming out and telling the truth, has been covering up, invoking secrecy and hiding, lying for 4 months,” said the SYRIZA president

“If the case of illegal surveillance had broken out in Belgium, the Justice itself – and not to throw the ball to the journalists – would have turned to the providers to find the data, and if it had been revealed that half of the cabinet was under surveillance, one of them ministers would have the dignity to resign and the prime minister himself would not be able to stand.”

This was stated by the president of SYRIZA PS Alexis Tsipras in an interview with the Open television station, emphasizing that since August Mr. Mitsotakis “instead of coming out and telling the truth, he covered up, invoked confidentiality and hid, he has been lying for 4 months”.

The leader of the official opposition asked how it is possible to go to an election with this whole affair open and commented that “the bottom line of the government is that the prime minister is not complicit, but he is inadequate”. “I’m telling you, he’s my political opponent, he’s not stupid at all, he has the ability to understand exactly what’s going on, control his associates and know what they’re doing, he’s an accomplice, that’s why he’s been hiding all these months.”

He argued that “if after all that has been done he does not take his responsibilities, if after all this he does not resign, then an additional crime is committed, because the greatest crime would be to get used to the logic that these things can happen, it is called Mithridatism this…”.
