Qatargate – The revealing email: ‘Don’t vote against Qatar’

by

The sender appeared to be Italian MEP Andrea Coccolino, whom Francesco Giorgi named in his apology as one of his accomplices

Two twenty-four hours after her speech Eva Kaili in the European Parliament, during which the Greek MEP described Qatar as a “pioneer in labor rights”, an e-mail message arrived in the emails of the social democratic MEPs.

Its title was “Vote against the second paragraph of Recital A of the Qatar World Cup resolution”.

The Italian MEP Andrea Coccolino, member of the sub-committee on human rights and head of the delegation for EU-Morocco relations, appeared as the sender.

The content of the email in question, which is at the disposal of “K”, would have little meaning if Andrea Coccolinos had not been named in his apology last Wednesday as one of his accomplices by the partner of Eva Kailis and prisoner for the Qatargate case, Francesco Giorgi.
