SYRIZA filed today, December 21, 2022, an amendment-addition to the draft law of the Ministry of Health “Integrated Palliative Care Provision System – Arrangements to deal with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the protection of public health and other emergency arrangements”.
The subject of the amendment is the “extraordinary reductions in VAT on food and Excise Tax on Energy Products”.
“The reduction of VAT on food is considered necessary, as inflation in 2022 is estimated at 10%, inflation in food items was at 15% in November and increases in basic food categories were around or even above 20%” it states among others in the announcement of SYRIZA.
