ND MP Themis Heimaras has resigned

In a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoula, the Member of Parliament of Fthiotida of the ND, Themis Chimarasannounced his resignation.

In his letter, Mr. Heimaras states:

“In the 2019 elections, the citizens of Fthiotida did me the honor of electing me as a Member of Parliament, to work for my place, to serve my country and to strengthen the effort of New Democracy, the faction I have served since I was a child, for the creation of a strong Greece.

The inconsistency that emerged in the last few days, in relation to my business activity and despite the fact that the data I have provided does not show an increase in sales during my parliamentary term, raises issues.

Acknowledging that an inadvertent omission of mine, became the cause of to embarrass the party who I serve and the people who have honored me with their trust and friendship, I take full responsibility which belongs to me and I declare my resignation from the parliamentary office, handing over the seat to New Democracy, as I owe.

I would never allow such an issue that concerns me to be exploited by our political opponents, in order to harm the principles, values ​​and ideals that the New Democracy Government and our Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, faithfully serve .

I thank my compatriots for their support and trust and I apologize to those whom I unintentionally upset.

I declare that I remain at the forefront of the battle with New Democracy, alongside our Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the Greece we deserve, for a strong Fthiotida”.
