SYRIZA continues, unfortunately, to be the permanent opponent of every initiative of the Government that strengthens the security of citizens.
To restore the truth, the following are highlighted:
First, no abolition or deforestation of University Conservation Groups is implemented.
Secondly, the six hundred (600) Special Guards who will further strengthen patrols in the neighborhoods of Attica have received four months of intensive training.
Thirdly, their recruitment was based on a legislative initiative of last summer, which was approved by the Parliament.
Fourthly, in combination with the structural reforms being implemented in the Police, which free a significant number of Police officers from over decades, the presence of the Police in the neighborhoods is significantly strengthened.
It is understandable that the significant reduction recorded in the crime indicators in the last year – in relation to the period 2015-2019 – bothers SYRIZA. However, we do not allow the competent Head of Department to continue to evolve into the most ruthless slanderer of the Greek Police.
