Oikonomou: Greece, from being part of the problem, became the catalyst for the solutions

by

Mr. Economou attacked the opposition and especially SYRIZA, stressing that he “remains trapped in ideas that went bankrupt in the last century and dissolved in the void” and that he “does not want and cannot follow international developments”.

The Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government representative and Member of Parliament of Fthiotida started his pre-election campaign in Fthiotida this afternoon. Giannis Oikonomou in an open political rally in Lamia.

At the Municipal Theater of Lamia, Yiannis Oikonomou had the opportunity to analyze interventions at the central political level as well as at the local level, which have taken place up to now, but at the same time he identified the goals of the next period, in the time we are going through and above all “the goals of the new four-year period”, as he characteristically underlined several times during his speech. Mr. Economou made a specific reference to the large participation that existed inside and outside the Municipal Theater of Lamia, emphasizing that “it is the harbinger of a new great victory for New Democracy».

He attempted to take stock of both his governmental and personal work during the previous 4 years and even determined that “this effort was exhausted in the “storm”, as he said, that the planet experienced”, making special reference to the presence of Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the helm of government. “Your trust and your love has supported me throughout my journey in the commons” he underlined, adding that “you gave me strength and responsibility to actively participate in the effort to protect and promote our national interests, the standard of living you and our ancestry for Fthiotida”.

The Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government representative determined that “politics is not communication tricks, it is not photos and appearances at galas, it is not televised cockfights, it is not serving actors, it is not servitude to “ours” and indifference to the rest. It is not the post-war, as he characterized it, effort of some who perceive themselves as luminaries, to impose their will on the people, without going through the channels of popular verdict and without receiving popular legitimation».

During his speech, Mr. Economou reviewed the events from July 2019 until now, emphasizing how “New Democracy took over a society and a state marred by the ten-year crisis of the memorandums and the adventurist policy of SYRIZA”, as he said, characterizing Greece as “suffering, disorganized, targeted brutally and disreputable in the international arena”, while accusing SYRIZA of “unforgivable amateurism and opportunism” and as he said “we are one step away from falling definitively to the level of third world countries”. Enumerating the interventions of the ND government, Mr. Economou underlined that “there was a systematic analysis of the data with knowledge of the international and domestic reality, with expertise, professionalism and pragmatism”, as he said, to add that “this preparation yielded the response that there was from the side of the government and in fact directly, both the attempt to invade the Evros, the pandemic, the climate crisis, the war in Ukraine, the energy and food precision”. Making special reference to the conditions that are taking shape today, he meaningfully underlined that “I am not coming before you to beautify the situation and claim that everything is fine because it is not” as he said, testifying his “understanding of the difficulty of the average Greek family that works hard to cope with the educational needs of her children, tutoring, foreign languages, rent and university studies” as she emphasized with emphasis and spoke in particular about the “cumulative fatigue and psychological pressure from the successive crises that the country is experiencing us for the last 10 years».

Underline “the effort made and made by the government and the prime minister to turn any small or large margin into a dividend of support for society”. He made references to businesses and workers, farmers, the effort to support fuel, fertilizers and animal feed, to efforts to mitigate the impact on the household with household electricity bills, which he said “ceased to be a nightmare for months”. stressing that “this effort continues at all levels with targeted benefits to the most vulnerable as well as with larger perimeter moves that try to mitigate the footprint of precision».

Referring to the major issues that preoccupied and preoccupy our region in relation to geopolitics, he noted that “Greece, from being part of the problem, became the catalyst for the solutions to a series of global problems of our timeas he characteristically said.

Among them, he highlighted the alliances with the USA and France, which “they additionally protect our country and our national rights“, as he characteristically pointed out, while making special reference to the armaments program which “is the largest in decades” and at the same time he noted the immigration issue saying that “we sorted out the chaos in immigration”. Regarding Greek-Turkish affairs, he emphasized that “Greece, facing a revisionist neighbor, is a strong country that is neither threatened nor intimidated and this is the result of an authentically patriotic policy that bears the stamp of our faction and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis”.

Mr. Economou referred to Fthiotida stressing that “we have to make some honest admissions”, making particular reference to the development and investment gap of more than ten years, as he said, and identified that “valuable development poles of the region are languishing, leading to demographic shrinkage” stressing that “Fthiotida is not just facing a demographic problem but a demographic crisis”.

Yiannis Economou underlined that “what we have achieved was important and great, but always the most and the best are the ones ahead of us” making special references to the targeting of New Democracy for the next four years “with a strong government” as he said “it will be able to increase salaries so that we converge to the levels of the strongest states of the European Union and that the Greek permanently overcomes the disadvantage created by the long period of the memorandums in his standard of living”.

Mr. Economou attacked the opposition and especially SYRIZA, stressing that “remains trapped in ideas that went bankrupt in the last century and dissolved into the void” and that “he is unwilling and unable to follow international developments».

He accused the opposition and SYRIZA as a whole of “trying to spread fear in society and inaction” and attributed to SYRIZA the intention of imposing a “Trumpism but Greek” on Greece.

Yiannis Oikonomou, constantly making references to the founder of New Democracy, Konstantinos Karamanlis, at the end of his speech made a special reference to the next elections and the simple proportional one. He characterized the simple proportional vote by SYRIZA as adventurous and even determined that “it is a bomb in the foundations of political stability which can be deactivated in only one way”, as he said, and added that “realizing the criticality of the times, the everyone to emphatically express their will in the very first ballot box so that the second one will follow to consolidate and expand the validity of the decision”.

In fact, in closing, he made a special appeal “to ignore all that will be heard in the next period, that it is supposedly an opportunity to send a message to the government”. He even called for all these to be isolated very quickly and even noted that “don’t make the mistake of listening to them. Those that are judged are greater and more important than a temporary bitterness or disappointment over some individual failures. At the ballot box we vote for the homeland and those we love.”
