The Prime Minister expressed his optimism about the election result, but pointed out that there can be no complacency
We are now entering the final stretch, the elections will be held in April or May, pointed out Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who presided in the afternoon at the joint meeting of the Executive Secretariat and the Intersecretariat of the ND, held at the party’s headquarters in Moschato.
“We are now entering the final stretch, it is an open secret that the clock is ticking backwards, I have said it publicly, I say it privately to you too – it is not a secret – the elections will be held either in April or May, the first elections. the second ones, it will be 4 to 5 weeks later, so I think you can understand that we work on a very tight schedule. Let us have no doubt that the result of the first election is the one that will ultimately determine the developments and we want to have a result so strong that our ability to achieve independence in the second ballot is not in any way doubted. This is the goal”, emphasized Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his statement.
The Prime Minister expressed his optimism about the election result, but pointed out that there can be no complacency: “I am very optimistic about the elections. I see the metrics, but mostly I see the people. The climate is very good. We had the opportunity to meet two days ago in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the climate is really very good and it is very good because surely the government’s work is a guarantee of consistency, continuity, stability and also reliability. Compared to 2019, now they tell us “come and continue your work, because we trust you”. We must know that by speaking the language of truth with citizens we build even more credibility. This is a great victory for us, for our faction, for me personally. I know very well that elections are won when the last vote has been counted. The danger always – and I will stress this – is arrogance and the discounting of the election result. It is good that we are entering the campaign with a good air, but this should in no way lead us to complacency”, underlined the Prime Minister.
Referring to the pre-election climate, Kyriakos Mitsotakis said characteristically: “We will have turbulence, we will have a lot of toxicity in front of us. And this is because in our work no one can oppose us. Also, they haven’t said anything about what they’re going to do in the next four years because they simply can’t talk and present a thorough program.”
