In his statements, Erdogan hinted that the polls in Turkey will be held on May 14

The slogan for early elections on May 14 was given by the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At the same time, as the SKAI correspondent broadcasts from Istanbul Manolis Kostidisscenarios are being circulated for simultaneous elections in Turkey and Greece – as far as the second Greek polls are concerned.

This means that if the second elections in Greece are held on May 14, according to the above scenario, then the first will have been held on April 9, as can be seen from what Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said yesterday that the first of the second ballots will be 4 to 5 weeks away.

In the news bulletin of the Turkish channel Show TV, the following was reported: “Will we have early elections? This is the political agenda. When will the polls be set up? 85 million citizens are waiting to find out. The president of Turkey for the first time spoke about a specific date. Erdogan recalled May 14 when Adnan Menderes was the winner of the elections.

In his statements, Erdoğan had mentioned: “Just as the late Andan Menderes won the elections on May 14, 1950 with the slogan ‘enough, the people have their say.’ So even now in 2023 we will say ‘the decision and the reason belong to the people’ and we will win. Enough is enough, the decision as well as the opinion belongs to the people”.

Turkey: Concern over the increased US presence in Greece

“After Souda and Alexandroupoli, Washington now wants to strengthen the Larissa air base”

The TV network HABER GLOBAL reported: “Mitsotakis put the brakes on the sale of the port of Alexandroupolis. But Alexandroupolis was turned into an American base. In addition, there are claims that the USA wants to turn the Larissa air base into a center of operations for Europe and Africa.

» The US has included in its plans the airbase of Larissa and the region of Thessaly, which is located north of Athens. There is a plan by the Americans who want to create a modern security and defense network covering the region from the Balkans to the Middle East. The Larissa airbase already hosts the 110th fighter wing of the Greek Air Force with F-16 fighter jets. Since last November, 8 MQ9-Reaper drones and 150 American soldiers have been stationed there.”
