The President of PASOK-KINAL met with representatives of scientific and productive bodies

Meeting with representatives of scientific and productive bodies had the President of PASOK – Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, with a central topic of discussion the increase in insurance contributions of freelancers, self-employed and farmers, i.e. those insured in EFKA- OAEE – ETAA – OGA, from 1/1/2023 based on the change in inflation.

“We took the initiative to discuss with you, because at a time when the cost of living is increasing due to price increases, freelancers, the self-employed and farmers are facing a new burden, which results from Law 4670/2020 which essentially, it adjusts the increase in contributions based on inflation, i.e. to 9.6%,” Mr. Androulakis pointed out, adding that the charge will range from 20-60 euros for self-employed professionals and from 11-26 euros for farmers.

“Knowing the problem since November, we had tabled an amendment to suspend the increase. Unfortunately, the Government did not accept it. That is why we have called you today, because we want to table the amendment again next week. There should be the maximum possible pressure so that they are not faced with this new increase in insurance contributions,” said Mr. Androulakis.

With the agreement of the representatives of the scientific and productive bodies, the Parliamentary Group of PASOK-Movement of Change will re-submit an amendment, which will provide for the suspension of the increase in insurance contributions in 2023 and from 2024 the setting of a maximum ceiling. Additionally, in the context of the unification of e-EFKA benefits, a relevant legislative initiative will be taken to adjust the maternity allowance of the self-employed.
