The debate in the Parliament on the motion of no confidence tabled by Alexis Tsipras began in high tones
“Don’t you wretched sycophants and mudslingers ever dare to point a finger at the ND of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The rest will be decided at the ballot box with the Greek people,” said the Minister of Investments and Development. Adonis Georgiadesduring the discussion, in the Plenary Session of the Parliament, of the motion of no confidence in the government submitted by SYRIZA.
Mr. Georgiadis denounced the official opposition leader “as one of the biggest hypocrites of the Greek political scene.” He told the SYRIZA MPs that “as likely as you find the grave of little Maria in Evros, it is as likely that Alexis Tsipras will become prime minister again in Greece”. He accused SYRIZA of having reached the front pages of his friendly newspapers to throw “mud even against the leader of GETHA, Mr. Floros, who honors the Armed Forces of the country”.
The minister called the official opposition party interested in “justice” à la carte, saying that “yesterday, Mr. Philistor Destebasidis, the “hooded” witness with whom you set up the Novartis scheme, was arrested by EL.AS as a member of a criminal organization ” and “we still haven’t heard an apology from you”. “This,” he said, “is your faith in Justice.” “You remain the same wretched subjects, scoundrels of the Republic”, you are “a party of mudslingers”.
He mentioned that the SYRIZA government was the one that, on the eve of the elections, changed the Criminal Code, where, among other things, it changed wiretapping from a felony to a misdemeanor. For this reason, noted Mr. Georgiadis, “no one believes you when you say that you are interested in the issue of wiretapping”. He pointed out that the intellexia company got its operating license under the SYRIZA government, its first major project from the State was received from the SYRIZA Citizen Protection Minister, Nikos Toska, whose son worked for the company. That’s why “you can’t point a finger at us today”.
Mr. Georgiadis wondered if in SYRIZA “they still remember Mr. Stergios Pitsiorlas or if they forgot that the EYP was monitoring him during their days”. He also referred to the statements of Mr. Chr. Kalogritsa and his secretary at the Special Court where the former SYRIZA minister and MP Nikos Pappas is on trial, saying that “today, the Special Court decided that the testimony of Mr. Kalogritsa’s secretary should go to the competent prosecutor to start an investigation into whether SYRIZA took black money in bags from Mr. Kalogritsa.”
The parliamentary representative of SYRIZA, Euclid Tsakalotos, with his intervention, called the Minister of Investments and Development, Adonis Georgiadis, that with his statement “he did not say a single word about the wiretapping. He told us about Nikos Pappa, Stavros Kontonis, “Sarafi”, but not a word about whether Mr. Hatzidakis was monitored, the prime minister was lying when he said that it was not possible to monitor Mr. Hatzidakis. Did you attack us because we were trying to figure out if Mr. Floros was being watched? Same on you […] here you are accused and the Greek people want to know if there were surveillances and parastatals. Instead of accusing Mr. Tsipras of theatrics, look in your mirror…”.
