Pierrakakis to SYRIZA: “Be careful, because the mud in the fan can turn on those who throw it”

by

“I’m not talking about conspiracies by accident, because they are in your works in every way. Enough with the mud on the fan. But be careful because sometimes the fan turns the mud upside down on the one who throws it”

In the same intense climate of confrontation as yesterday, between the government and the opposition, the debate in the Plenary Session of the Parliament began, early in the morning, on the motion of no confidence against the government submitted by SYRIZA.

The curtain opened with the first verbal conflict between the Minister of Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the parliamentary representative of SYRIZA Panos Skourletis.

Mr. Pierrakakis accused SYRIZA of trying to use the motion of no confidence as a tool and spoke of mud in the fan which, as he said, sometimes turns on the one who throws it.

“Beyond the dimension of the motion of no confidence, the debate is not about the tree but about the forest. And the forest is the total comparison of our deeds. It is a prime opportunity to compare. And the data speak for themselves and are deafening”, Mr. Pierrakakis initially pointed out.

As he argued, “the growth rate of the Greek economy doubled last year, tripled this year and is expected to quadruple next year, exports more than doubled, direct investments increased and tourism set a record”.

“The role of the ND government is twofold. He proved that he is able to solve outstanding issues of the past and effectively manage major external crises”, he said, noting, at the same time, that “the big dilemma of the elections will be the government or the opposition?”

“The dilemma will be: With the country’s capabilities or fears?” Which government effectively manages external crises?’ he said.

Mr. Pierrakakis spoke of “conspiracy that undermines the institutions”, adding that “that is why the discussion must concern the forest, i.e. the future of the country, who we are and where we are going as a country and be conducted with the vocabulary of the future ».

“The government has proven that it can solve chronic problems and it has proven that it can learn from its failures. And as the prime minister said, it is better for a government to make mistakes and learn from them than a wrong government”, concluded Mr. Pierrakakis.

SYRIZA’s parliamentary representative, Panos Skourletis, accused Mr. Pierrakakis of “invoking conspiracies while avoiding answering the critical questions at the center of which are malicious software and illegal surveillance.”

“Will you answer for the ADAE evidence that confirms that there were illegal surveillances? You will answer the relentless questions that arise or you will continue your unacceptable disparaging behavior towards the institutions and the needs of the people”, countered Mr. Skourletis.

“I’m not talking about conspiracies by accident, because they are in your works in every way. Enough with the mud on the fan. But be careful because sometimes the fan turns the mud upside down on the one who throws it”, answered Mr. Pierrakakis.

“The official opposition came “on horseback” ready to overthrow the government. The faction that restored democracy in the country does not accept lessons from those who took the lead outside the parliament and called for the parliament to be burned. You remember democracy too late”, commented the ND parliamentary representative, Haris Theoharis.
