Shortly before 12:30, the body of the former President of the Republic arrived at the sanctuary. His coffin was covered with the Greek flag.

Karolos Papoulias said goodbye to the Movement for Change with a video he posted on social media.

Due to the sanitary measures, the burial of Karolos Papoulias will be performed in a close family circle on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at his birthplace, on the island of Ioannina.
