The Ministry of Education’s bill on school violence was submitted to the Parliament today. As the minister of education Niki Kerameos pointed out to SKAI 100.3 and Akis Pavlopoulos, it includes the operation of a digital platform to receive and utilize even anonymous reports from students.

The minister explained that anonymous reporting makes it easier for the victim or classmate to report related incidents as children can feel more comfortable.

Mrs. Kerameos called on all parties to support the bill noting that it is beyond the parties, it is an issue that concerns every home, noting that schools are the mirror of our society.

Answering a question about the use of trap music and lyrics that talk about drugs and violence in the school environment, the minister said that the home has a decisive role, but the school can act proactively.

He also noted that there are skills workshops starting in kindergarten that teach children about good living and addiction prevention.

As he mentioned, we believe in a school that has a broader mission to produce children who are more globally formed and who know how to act within society.
