With two new female nominations, her ballots are strengthened New Republic in Crete in the upcoming national elections.

What determines the special value of these candidacies is the fact that they come from the centrist area, which is particularly targeted by the ruling party in Crete.

Besides, according to the findings of the latest survey carried out by a local media outlet, SYRIZA is ahead in Crete with only two units of New Democracy (27% against 25%) with its percentages -except for Chania- having dropped significantly. At the same time, New Democracy maintains its strength, while it seems to be ahead in the Regional Units of Rethymno and Lasithi.

According to information, the list of Chania will include the one from PASOK, Chariklia Dermanaki, who in the 2012 national elections was a candidate with PASOK in the same constituency. It should be noted that in 2012, Mr. Androulakis’s party had failed to elect a member of parliament in this region, while she herself left the party two years later.

A pathologist – oncologist is added to the new nominations in the prefecture of Heraklion. Gogo Milaki, with a rich research and scientific background, has recently been elected Regional Councilor of the Region of Crete and Secretary of the Regional Council.
