“Any attempt to hide and cover up the truth about the tragedy of Tempe is disrespectful to the dead and heralds new tragedies”, says in a statement the press representative of SYRIZA PS, Popi Tsapanidounoting that “the choice of all of us now can only be one: All in the light.”

He argues that “the attempt of the prime minister and the government to resort to communication tricks, crude attempts at compensation and timeless excuses, causes serious concerns and a sad impression”.

“We repeat that for anyone who really respects the lives that were unjustly lost, their families, all those who are anxious about how and why we got to the very deadly drama, the truth is the only way,” notes Mrs. Tsapanidou and emphasizes that the prime minister must answer four questions at this time.

Specifically, the questions it poses are the following:

“-What exactly was he going to launch in Thessaloniki the day after the accident? A remote control and signaling center with a non-existent system?

-Who and how appointed an inexperienced and unsuitable person to the position of Larisa station master and how many days before the accident had he assumed duty?

-What is the reason for the resignation in 2022 of the chairman of the Commission responsible for the signaling and safety projects in the railway network and what is the answer to the continuous out-of-court actions of the workers?

-Finally, we are waiting for Mr. Mitsotakis, who attributed the ‘objective political responsibility’ to Mr. Karamanlis, to answer us if this will last until the elections and then he will be a normal candidate.”

Finally, the representative of SYRIZA PS states that “in any case, let everyone be sure: The truth is the last salute to our dead”.
