Meeting with subject matters of Mykonos was held at Megaros Maximos under the prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“It is not understood that there is an island, in which some people consider that they are above the law. This situation is being dealt with with determination,” the Prime Minister emphasized at the start of the meeting, during which interventions were discussed at two levels: at the urban level and at the level of policing.

In this context, it was decided to move to Mykonos, next week, a mixed level of Building Inspector, Environmental Inspector and the Economic Police, in order to check all the complaints about urban planning violations and to take the necessary measures, while with an order passed yesterday in Parliament suspends construction on the island in areas outside the plan.

It was also decided to significantly strengthen the police presence, especially in specific areas where increased delinquency is observed.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas, the Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodorikakos, the Deputy Minister of the Interior responsible for Self-Government Issues Stelios Petsas, the Deputy Minister responsible for Environmental Protection Issues Giorgos Amyras, the Deputy Minister responsible for Spatial Planning and Urban Affairs Environment Nikos Tagaras, the Deputy Minister responsible for Anti-Criminal Policy Lefteris Oikonomou, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Yiannis Bratakos, the General Secretary of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment Efthimios Bakoyannis and the Chief of the Greek Police, Lieutenant General Lazaros Mavropoulos.
