His Holiness the Patriarch of Jerusalem On Palm Sunday, Theophilos III met the president of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, in Jerusalem where he is visiting.

During their private meeting, which took place in a warm atmosphere, the president of PASOK-Movement for Change noted: “Your Grace, it is our great honor and pleasure to celebrate Palm Sunday with you today. I am here because I have and we have a duty to support your efforts to have a strong presence of Orthodoxy and Hellenism in the Holy Land”.

Mr. Androulakis, on the occasion of his presence, wished a happy birthday to all Christians everywhere, with the hope that the Resurrection Light this year will bring peace, prosperity, in the face of fanaticism, intolerance and social injustice.

His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Mr. Theophilos III, for his part, said: “And we, on our behalf and on behalf of the Holy Sepulcher Brotherhood, want to express our sincere thanks for the interest you show both personally and as a party regarding the support of Christians not only here in the Holy Land and the Middle East, but also throughout the rest of the world. And this honors you personally, because, today, the Church plays a very important role.

The Christian presence is necessary for the whole world, because Christians are bound by the principles and values ​​of the Gospel that concern the human person and for us every human being is considered an image of God. And as the image of God he must enjoy absolute respect and freedom.

And I am sincerely particularly happy, Mr. President, because you have clothed yourself in these principles of Hellenism and Greek Orthodoxy. Welcome again, Happy Easter and good luck in your mission.”

Mr. Androulakis presented the Patriarch of Jerusalem with an album of maps of Greece from the period 1400-1842.

Earlier, Mr. Androulakis attended the service at the Paniero Church of the Resurrection and the litany around the Holy Sepulcher.
